NPE Show in Orlando with Doug Bathauer

May 19 2018
Every 3 years the Plastics Industry Association hosts “The Plastics Show” commonly referred to as NPE.  This year’s NPE was the largest show in NPE history.

In attendance at the show are people and companies from around the world representing essentially ever sector of the plastics industry including engineers, executives, media, manufacturing, end use customers and business development to name a few.  NPE provides an excellent opportunity to network, keep up with the latest trends, speak with the plastics media, increase the awareness of your company and strengthen current relationships.

Integral did not display at the show, but we were in attendance for the first three days.  Each day we met with various people at PolyOne. The location was excellent because many of their global personnel involved with the sales of ElectriPlast were there, making for a unique opportunity to have everyone in one place at the same time.  We continue to be thrilled with the resources and effort that PolyOne is putting into the marketing and development of ElectriPlast.  We also had the opportunity to speak with several members of the media. They were quite interested in the recent license agreement with PolyOne, and provided them an opportunity to speak with PolyOne about ElectriPlast as well.   Several of our suppliers, end customers and prospective license partners were in attendance, and we had the opportunity to meet with them as well.

The show had over 2000 exhibitors, which made it virtually impossible to see each one.  It was quite common to see exhibitors manufacturing parts at their display.   Most commonly seen were various types of molding, injection and blow molding. 3-D printing was well represented as well.  One thing that was particularly evident was the increase in number of robots.  As compared with 3 years ago the number of working robot displays had grown significantly, which of course is a sign of current and future trends.
